Welcome back, Everyone!!

I am so thrilled to be able to bring you another issue of the ARDLA newsletter. Congratulations to Marty Watson for coming up with the fabulous title: From a Distance… I think it exhibits all that distance education stands for.

Being in higher ed, I tend to think of distance education only in higher ed terms, so I wanted to focus on some other areas within ARDLA for this issue. We have some wonderful information from our telemedicine sector and K-12 area. I hope they bring you some new insights into what is going on in distance education in Arkansas.

I also want to direct your attention to the changes in our ARDLA board. We’ll miss Chris Boyett as he treks on his new adventure as Interim Vice-Chancellor for ASU-Heber Springs, but we welcome Valerie Wilson as the 2009 ARDLA president.

Finally, make sure to mark your calendars for the ARDLA conference on September 22-24, 2009! The Board and committee chairs are already working hard to make this the best conference ever! If possible, please consider presenting at the conference. We’d love to learn from you.

Don’t forget to send in what is going on at your schools and agencies! I look forward to any submission you have and anticipate our next issue around June 15th!
